Brick Cladding — Complete Guide

Brick cladding recreates the warm, classic look of exposed brickwork as a thin decorative facade. Instead of building a full brick wall, thin brick tiles / slips / veneer (10–25 mm thick brick faces) are fixed onto the wall surface, giving the authentic appearance of brick at a fraction of the weight, cost & thickness. It is popular for facades, feature walls, cafes, restaurants, and contemporary / industrial-style interiors.

Brick cladding uses fired clay brick tiles (IS 1077 related), wirecut brick slips, or engineered brick veneer. It complements the Bricks & Blocks category.

What is Brick Cladding?

Brick cladding is a thin layer of brick (real fired clay slips or engineered look-alike) applied over walls for the exposed-brick aesthetic. It is non-structural — purely decorative / protective — and far lighter and thinner than a brick masonry wall, so it can be applied over existing walls without heavy structural support.

Conclusion

Brick cladding delivers the warm, timeless appeal of exposed brickwork as a thin, lightweight, weather-resistant facade. Use clay brick slips for authentic facades & feature walls, wirecut for modern looks, and rustic / handmade for heritage character. Fix with polymer-modified tile adhesive, use corner slips for clean edges, point joints neatly, and seal porous clay against efflorescence.
